A couple of years ago I posted on the blog about a track released on Nu Groove by LB Bad called The New age of Faith. For those who are familiar with Sabres of Paradise – Smoke Belch, will recognise exactly the origins of the Sabres track that was produced a couple of years after The New age of Faith. On the original post, LB stumbled upon it and left a comment, and more recently has revisited the post and answered a questions I put to him to find out the influence behind the track.

What was the inspiration or influence behind “New age of Faith” ?
The influence? No one EVER asked that. Song deserves its story to be told. THE TRUE STORY right here. FOR the two of us. lol.
Little “BaD” was chosen to sing Opera with North Babylon’s Robert Moses Junior High School select chorus@the MET. Many thanks to Mr. AMBROSINO/chorus teacher!! For 2 consecutive years 14-15 year old DJ BaD was performing in “CARMEN” @ the Metropolitan Opera House in NY, with none other than Luciano PAVAROTTI! I entered the world of Classical & swayed toward New Age Music.
I’d have to also say from working in a MALL type record store, (Record World) where *I (as manager) had access to just about every type of music, & I came across the label Windham Hill. Their sound is both natural & I’d call it NOT Modern Classical but updated Classical. Or simply Early Electronic Ambient. I’ve sent Windham Hill a few songs, but I guess they weren’t feeling the dirty forward sound of my “soundscapes”. lol. Thinking about it now, its very possible I sent New Age Of Faith to them.
So singing Opera & the awareness of the label Windham Hill’s music was surely most the influence.
Inspiration. Twice in my life, & only twice I got REALLY fed up & tired of working on a song. Trying to produce a real song, what its supposed to be & or sound like according to the THEY’s of society. Poppy. After finishing said songs final session (or just ending it!) to celebrate I’d make something RAW. The 2nd creation from that inspiration is B.FLAT – Trigger Records & years later released on Gigolo. The 1st time that happened New Age of Faith was born. Working on a POP pop song a friend wrote (I was learning/teaching myself how to produce a song- specifically written by another) I found a fantastic vocalist & so I spent weeks steady working on putting all things in the “so called” right places. That project got scrapped.
First thing I did after leaving it was “chill out”. Musically. Early thoughts of spirituality came shining thru. The concept of how humans move or ascend from being born (out from liquids-sperm, then held in liquid- then “mothers WATER breaks”), to walking the EARTH, to the “unknown” known thought of ascending to HEAVEN or UP into SPACE.
Comparison of that journey to the horizontal graphics of our known surroundings.
Water- land/earth- the skies/the heavens/SPACE!Today I believe those similarities are more related/connected than most can imagine.
A key of life?
Thee journey humans do take.
Those questions, those thoughts were the inspiration.
